“The Retreat4Kids is my first CPS placement. I am 16 years old and I have been at the Retreat for five months now. The Retreat has helped me by providing structure, love and a Christian-based home. The time I have spent here has truly been life-changing.
The staff has shown me structure by caring about my education along with my physical and mental health. Without them pushing me, I would not have been able to make the “A-B Honor Roll” this year. Every doctor, dentist and medical appointment has shown me that I am just as important as any other child.
Staff has empowered me with the love they have shown me. Every time I feel like I have made too many mistakes or I am not good enough, staff assures me otherwise. They give me advice and help me focus on where I can improve. Staff have taught me that the first step to success is believing in myself and what I am capable of. Without the love of the people here around me, I would have never been empowered to be anything more than the child my parents couldn’t raise.
Coming to the Retreat was the answer to my prayers. The Lord instilled His will in Brittany’s heart and I am so grateful that Brittany chose to believe in me and give me a chance here at the Retreat. After many Sundays of attending church and intense conversations between God and me, I have been able to drop my care from intense to basic.
Psalm 27:23. “I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
I would love to thank the Retreat for doing God’s will in my life and showing me His goodness. This Christian-based home has shown me the structure and love in more ways than I can count. I would like to thank Brittany Thompson for showing me my worth is far beyond nothing. ”
